Jeremy Langnese for Manitowoc School Board

My Story

I was born and raised in Manitowoc and am a proud graduate of the Manitowoc Public School District, Class of 2002. After high school, I moved to Central Illinois, where I obtained my formal EMS education at Illinois Central College. Those years helped shape my foundation in emergency services and prepared me for a career dedicated to helping others.

From there, I moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania, where I spent most of my adult and professional life. Working in a large, diverse EMS system gave me valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

In 2018, I returned to Wisconsin to be closer to family and reconnect with the community that supported me growing up. In 2024, I moved back to my hometown of Manitowoc—coming full circle to the place that has always felt like home.

Over the past two decades, I’ve worked in emergency medical services and public safety as an EMT, 911 Dispatcher, Communications Officer, and Transport Coordinator. Today, I serve as the Community Engagement & Recruitment Coordinator for Orange Cross Ambulance, where I focus on building partnerships, strengthening workforce initiatives, and supporting community programs across the region.

Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, DIY projects, and life at home with my partner Hunter and our three pets—Sky, Oscar, and Punky—who provide plenty of entertainment.

My story is one of learning, returning, and giving back. The experiences I’ve gained both in Wisconsin and across the country have given me a broad perspective on community needs and the importance of collaboration, communication, and service.

Why I'm Runnning

I’m running for School Board because I believe our public schools work best when the focus stays on students, staff, and the everyday needs of the district—not on partisan politics. I’m tired of seeing political divisions influence areas where they don’t belong, especially when it comes to the education and well-being of our kids. School boards should be practical, collaborative, and centered on problem-solving, not party lines.

Growing up in Manitowoc and returning home after many years away, I want to help strengthen the district that helped shape me. My background in emergency services, community engagement, and operational leadership has shown me the value of communication, transparency, and common-sense decision-making.

I’m running to support:

  • High-quality instruction and real-world readiness

  • Teachers and staff who are essential to student success

  • Safe, well-maintained school facilities and modern infrastructure

  • Clear, open communication with families and the community

  • A non-partisan, student-focused approach to every decision

My goal is to help ensure our schools stay centered on what truly matters: preparing students for their futures and supporting the people who make that possible.
